The Saskatchewan Catholic School Boards Association was officially incorporated in 2006. Prior to that, it was known as the Catholic Section of the Saskatchewan School Boards Association (SSBA).
Catholic Section affiliated with the SSBA in 1952 when the Saskatchewan School Trustees Association was formed. Prior to that time, the Catholic School Trustees Association of Saskatchewan was founded in 1920 and served Catholic trustees until the affiliation with the SSBA. The conditions of affiliation ensured representation on the SSTA Executive and provision for direct access to government on issuesexclusive to Catholic Education.
What do we do?
The main focus of the SCSBA is to support the Boards of Education of the eight Catholic School Divisions in ensuring the provision of a high quality Catholic Education in which our Catholic teachings and gospel values permeate every aspect of the operations.
The SCSBA is in close liaison with the Saskatchewan Assembly of Catholic Bishops and other provincial and national Catholic School Trustee organizations.
The SCSBA strives to work harmoniously with the Government of Saskatchewan, the SSBA and other educational partners within the province.
